Can you enable CGI?
If you wish, we can enable CGI.  CGI (Common Gateway Interface) defines a way for a web server to interact with external content-generating programs, which are referred to as CGI programs or CGI scripts.  It is the most common way to put dynamic content on your web site.  CGI scripts can be written in any programming language, including Perl (Practical Extraction and Report Language).  Perl is designed for processing text and has become one of the most popular languages for writing CGI scripts.

CGI scripts available for use include FormMail, Web-Based Email, Two-Dimensional Sorted Data Bases, Shopping Carts, and Message Boards.  Let us know if you wish to use other CGI scripts. -- Top
Can you enable SSI?
SSIs (Server Side Includes) are HTML comments that direct the web server to dynamically generate data for web pages whenever it is requested.  The simplest directive is #include, which inserts the contents of another file.  This is useful for ensuring that headers and footers, for example, are the same on all web pages throughout a web site.  You need only modify the include file, instead of updating every individual web page.  Web pages that contain SSIs often end with a .shtml extension.  This filename extension enables the web server to differentiate those web pages that need to be processed before they are sent to the browser.

SSIs provide for interactive real-time features such as echoing current time, conditional execution based on logical comparisons, querying or updating a database, sending an email, etc., with no programming or CGI scripts.  Let us know if you wish to know more about these directives. -- Top
